Once again, it was a nail-biter!

Warm and sunny, cold and rainy, light and heavy off-shore breeze – after twelve races in all sorts of conditions, it all came down to ONE POINT to decide the 2017 World title between Adam Holm (SWE) and Huig-Jan Tak (NED). And this time, it went Adam’s way! Proud father Björn Holm (himself a multiple world champion) kept the pressure on all week and was only four points adrift, while Anders Pers (SWE) and Seb Lovell (GBR) rounded up the top-five.

On the race course, the battle is always full on between those two, but they’re the best of friends off the water. Their smiles are infectious, and they’re quick to lend a hand and give tips to their fellow competitors. In fact, if there’s one thing that we should take away from the racing in Båstad, it’s not the racing itself, how ever exciting it was, but the love and camaraderie among Kona racers. That’s why people travel long distances to attend these events!

A big thank you to all the sponsors and supporters – especially to the Båstad Boat and Sailing Association for running such a flawless and memorable event!

Adam Holm: “I am completely stoked over winning the gold at the Worlds! I have been fighting a long time for this. Huig-Jan Tak is a very good friend of mine, and it has been challenging and rewarding to battle for the gold with him!”
