Mountain 9.8 opens up new opportunities for adventure seekers that wish to combine hiking with paddle boarding and looks for the silent spots away from other paddlers. Firstly, the board is extremely light which makes it convenient to carry over longer distances to reach a remote mountain or forest lake or rapids. Secondly, it has a very robust construction with four short thruster fins that enables white water paddling and as option a US fin box. The Mountain 9.8 comes with a high class backpack to make hiking comfortable and an integrated part of the experience.

Kona operates within the high quality segment. For us this means offering the best possible quality for its given purpose at an affordable price. We use double layer together with double wall technology for most of our boards. We have a smarter gluing process, a critical part of making a high quality board, which is completely machine based. This makes the boards more robust, stiffer, lighter and with an excellent surface finish. Compared to previous technologies it makes the boards approximately 20 percent stiffer. For some of our inflatables the prerequisites are distinctly different. In those cases we use the most appropriate technology. This is indicated at the presentation of individual boards.
